Thread Lifting

Thread Lifting

Known as the “lunchtime facelift” due to the quickness of the procedure, thread lifting offers a nonsurgical, long-lasting alternative to the standard facelift with little to no downtime.

How does it work?

Suture-like barbed threads are inserted under the skin with a needle, then the threads are pulled to tighten sagging skin, while simultaneously stimulating collagen growth. The threads (absorbable sutures) are then metabolized and absorbed by the body over time, but will leave newly produced collagen for up to three years.

Thread Lifting vs. Standard Facelift

Thread Lifting offers many advantages over the standard facelift, especially when considering the level of invasiveness and the length of the procedure. While the typical facelift consists of an invasive surgery usually done under full anesthesia, thread lifting can be done in 30 minutes, using just local anesthesia. Additionally, while the standard facelift may leave you recovering for up to two weeks, thread lifting offers little to no downtime. However, for some patients, thread lifting may not offer enough lift as opposed to a full surgical facelift. The ideal candidate for thread lifting does not have excessive sagging or laxity of skin, but instead, is dealing with the beginning stages of skin sagging.
